BE LIGHT

"You are the light of the world. A city on the hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven" (Matt. 5:13-16).
God has selected you to be the light of the world. You cannot make yourself be the light of the world. "The God who said, 'Out of darkness the light shall shine and' is the same God who made His light shine in our hearts, to bring us the knowledge of God's glory shining in the face of Christ" (2Cor. 4:6).
This is a picture of discipleship. Jesus, who is the light of the world, transforms us into the light of the world. We are light because we are in a spiritual relationship with the light of the world. He draws us to follow after Him, and says, "Whoever follows me will have the light of life and never walk in darkness" (Jn. 8:12).
Our focus must continually be in the light, humbly trusting Jesus to reveal the light through us. My focus is on following Jesus wherever he leads.
Since Christ is the source of light, we must reflect Christ's love, compassion, forgiveness, longsuffering, and etc. in this dark, fallen world.

Hope in God

What Matters Most
Do you not know that you can experience emptiness while in a room full of people? We tend to judge the outward circumstances around us which do not show the real picture of what we're actually experiencing. We are fine actors and like to play pretend games. We have various masks at our disposal to use in public. At home, we have an entirely different set when we're alone which shows our emptiness.
You control what you want people to see. Naturally, we want to appear to others as if everything is going peachy and we have it all together when it's not. Wow, what a way to live! The reason why we go to such lengths to hide what we're actually experiencing from others is because the image has become more important to us. On the contrary, what matters most is what's going on with our inward man.
Many men and women see no meaning in life. They lost all hope. They attempt to overcome the emptiness by becoming busy, turn to alcohol or drugs while others strive for more money, power, or love. Though enjoyment exists for them, it is often short-lived.
There's an important reason why life can feel empty--God created a yearning in the heart of man that He alone is able to fill. People cannot be fulfilled until they experience Father's transformation and unconditional love. Jesus said, "I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of" (Jn. 10:10 MSG).
We can live a full life only when we seek Father above everything else. Pray for His guidance as you search your heart. Confess any sin and ask Father to fill your life as only He can do.

THE BODY

YOUR BODY
Instructing the Christians in Corinth to flee from sexual immorality, the apostle Paul exalted, "Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body" (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Truly, God the Father created our bodies, God the Son redeemed them, and God the Holy Spirit dwells in them. This makes our body the very temple of the Holy Spirit of God.
Those who do not belong to Christ do not have the Spirit of Christ residing in them (Romans 8:9). So, their bodies are not a temple of the Holy Spirit.
Obviously, the greatest thing we can do for our bodies is to make them into a temple for God's Spirit. And we do this by placing our trust and faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior. The moment we do this, the indwelling of God's Spirit takes place (1 Corinthians 12:13). Our salvation is then sealed and guaranteed (Ephesians 1:13-14).
The Holy Spirit will then be with us forever (John 14:16), given by God as His pledge of the believer's future inheritance in glory (2 Corinthians 1:21-22).
Therefore, let us honor God with our bodies by which we were redeemed with the precious, unblemished blood of Jesus Christ (1 Peter 1:18-19).

KINDNESS COSTS NOTHING
"So when you, O man, pass judgment on others, yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God's judgment? Or do you disregard the riches of His kindness, tolerance, and patience, not realizing that God's kindness leads you to repentance? But because of your heart and your unrepentance, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of wrath when God's righteous judgment will be revealed..." (Rom. 2:3-5).
When you dwell on kindness, what ...

GOD'S BIGGER PICTURE
"I want you to know, my dear brothers and sisters, that everything that has happened to me here has helped to spread the Good News" (Philippians 1:12).
If you want to be all Father created you to be, you need to view every problem from God's perspective. Joyful people have a larger view. They recognize the big picture. When you don't look at things from Gods perspective, you get frustrated, discouraged, and disappointed.
